I believe all of you who have been to the most colourful, gigantic and exciting country of India can appreciate how its country men are lovely and sweet AND how they express themselves: if you’re just about to order a fruit-smoothie, getting out of the cheap bus after a bumpy and long-distance drive or having a typical small-talk to rickshaw-drivers – locals quite often do come up with their friendly smiling faces and ask you, the foreign traveler, the following two questions: “WHAT HAPPEN?” (sic!) and “WHY LIKE THIS?”. These questions can really occur in any situation and wherever you are. Just imagine how cool that is, especially when it doesn’t fit in the situation, … I myself admit I haven’t fully gotten the whole picture yet and still enjoyed to use those two simple rhetoric questions a lot, because – as I realised through time and frequent usage - those two expressions are not only great conversation-starters but can be used pretty much all the time when speaking to another person. And do you know why? Because in the life of anybody something (positive/negative/funny or whatever) has happen/ed and there’s always a reason, why it turned out to be like this – therefore you can always come back to those questions, even without knowing the person. In this text I’m answering the questions “WHAT HAPPEN?” and “WHY LIKE THIS?” Basically, so that you can understand that it wasn’t only a madmen’s idea of mine to HITCHHIKE To INDIA, but instead done with good intentions and with a focus on the moment… Through Yoga I – am so happy to have learned from the best and – can remember that it is most important NOT WHAT THE RESULT IS LIKE, BUT HOW YOU DO IT AND HOW IT FEELS LIKE TO YOU …
3. yoga being TAUGHT’N’TEACHING internationally
Travelling is full of new insights into the secrets of life, simply because it is absolutely intense and by that makes you grow personally, spiritually… also with regard to the career if you’re working abroad. Therefore I decided to get on this travel because I’ve been seen this trip as well as one big chance where I get out to teach yoga to the people all over the places. Just before my trip I decided to make it my life and work to teach yoga so I was very much stoked to start advertising, developing and testing out my teaching with the students that I’ve encountered on my way. I hope it worked out to their pleasure and advancement and am grateful for all my students from Germany, Italy, Switzerland, and the ones in between and in Turkey to Pakistan and India who gave me many chances to share my passion with you. Feedback me still, if you haven’t. You are amazing! And the places I taught were incredible beautiful: rooftops in villages and in big cities, antique villas, beaches, and during a train-ride/-stop.
Getting to know new insights, new practices and wisdom from Yoga that’s the thing I am absolutely eager for, so I am very much amazed to have met again or for the first time the following teachers HANNA BIER, the life-coaching beauty who once has revealed the first teachings of Yoga to me, MARA GUDAGNI, apparently the best Italian yoga teacher invited me to her yoga retreat in the Toscana where I was introduced to rocket yoga; CHRIS CHAVEZ who is full of real-life wisdom put into and out of yoga and earlier gave me my first 200 hours of yoga-teaching skills. Then there is my yoga-husband from Istanbul OZGUR ORAL who taught me – as always – many yoga and life lessons, MEGHAN CURRIE the genius who absolutely knows to pick the right words and poses for me. Having arrived in India the following things and much more happened: OSHO and his devotees who’ve created in advance some crazy meditation-practices for me and my ego, DR. DESIKACHAR and MENAKA DESKACHAR who are very much enthusiastic to share KRISHNMACHARYA’S classical yoga wisdom and last but not least being hugged and loved by the ocean of compassion, the guru AMMA herself … life’s been good, isn’t it?.
Just as I wished in advance: the absolute dream of mine has come true: to be able going around and learning from the best spiritual and inspiring teachers and people and to go on and teach to the people what’s awakened within me and what could be taught to interested folks.
Oh so great - thank you Michel for sharing. I am very much looking forward to part 5 next week!
Michel is back in Germany and ready to teach some yoga nationally and pass on his experience. Here you go to LOVENLAUGH
