I believe all of you who have been to the most colourful, gigantic and exciting country of India can appreciate how its country men are lovely and sweet AND how they express themselves: if you’re just about to order a fruit-smoothie, getting out of the cheap bus after a bumpy and long-distance drive or having a typical small-talk to rickshaw-drivers – locals quite often do come up with their friendly smiling faces and ask you, the foreign traveler, the following two questions: “WHAT HAPPEN?” (sic!) and “WHY LIKE THIS?”. These questions can really occur in any situation and wherever you are. Just imagine how cool that is, especially when it doesn’t fit in the situation, … I myself admit I haven’t fully gotten the whole picture yet and still enjoyed to use those two simple rhetoric questions a lot, because – as I realised through time and frequent usage - those two expressions are not only great conversation-starters but can be used pretty much all the time when speaking to another person. And do you know why? Because in the life of anybody something (positive/negative/funny or whatever) has happen/ed and there’s always a reason, why it turned out to be like this – therefore you can always come back to those questions, even without knowing the person. In this text I’m answering the questions “WHAT HAPPEN?” and “WHY LIKE THIS?” Basically, so that you can understand that it wasn’t only a madmen’s idea of mine to HITCHHIKE To INDIA, but instead done with good intentions and with a focus on the moment… Through Yoga I – am so happy to have learned from the best and – can remember that it is most important NOT WHAT THE RESULT IS LIKE, BUT HOW YOU DO IT AND HOW IT FEELS LIKE TO YOU …
4. the challenge of the UP’N’DOWNs
It was very clear to me that the months of my travels partly would become very much a hassle and a challenge for me on the mental, physical and emotional levels; such as: I didn’t know what I could eat next as a hungry vegan, where could I build up my tent for sleep, or who would be so kind and stop by with the car to give me a ride forward – this was a planned outcome, mainly for the reason of spiritual growth… coming back to the concept of hitchhiking thousands of miles to india: it’s not always sunny weather on the road, whereas mostly it was way to much sunshine out there so while my skin got sun-burned in the sun, my ego was at some points getting disappointed and frustrated by the circumstance when it was raining or too hot until I realized that nature is random and giving you something uncontrollable and exactly what you need to deal with in any particular moment. And pretty much the same it was with the thousands of people driving by without stopping even though – I thought – they could have.
I knew before that this would be about to happen to me as I set out and I clearly aimed for those kind of challenges as well, and wanted my self to adapt in extreme situations and make my ego understand that we all will have to go through those up’n’downs – not only during this trip but also throughout the whole life. Countless things are not under our control whereas I taught my ego to relax and just send out LOVE and LAUGHs
5. LOVE’n’LAUGH to the people…
There’s nothing more powerful than the hi-feelings of Love and Laugh, that’s at least for me like this – and surely something similar for you, too.
Since I had many moments of waiting and contemplating as a hitchhiker i – for a change – began to offer thoughts of affection and smiles of laugh to the people. The good intention of this energy-work and also the act of smiling itself made it a positive work-out for me. And really: more cars than before stopped and offered a ride forward, often times they even said, they “had a different feeling about me compared to other hitchhikers, so they decided to stop” – super great, yessssss! To people who have given me rides forward, food on the way, shelter to sleep and great energy I am so much happy to have come across your path, and was and am still offering unlimited gratitude, but furthermore I really hope that the energy send forward to the other people makes them as happy as the act of loving and laughing made me while connecting to my heart…
I must admit, this a strong energetic technique to deal with negative emotions and happenings and I was aware of it, but have never really applied it. So that’s one of the things I really incorporated into my life during this trip – this is what happen: that you can let go of wrong estimations and your bad mood by sending waves of beautiful LOVE’n’LAUGHs out to the people… It’s rather something I learned to bring it into usage but on the other side, I knew it’s going to be of importance, wherefore I have created during my trip my webpage already, if you want, feel free to take a look at it: www.LOVE’n’LAUGH.com
